2010 Westobou Festival
The Westobou Festival (September 16-25) is an annual celebration of the arts, both performing and visual, that encompasses Augusta, GA and North Augusta, SC.

This year the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta (AHCNA) will host members of the North Augusta Artists Guild throughout the week. The artists will be creating works within their specialties on-site. Also during the week and a half long festival, we will have fabulous art exhibits in our galleries.
Cajun Cabaret
To kick off the festival in style, the AHCNA is partnering with the North Augusta Cultural Arts Council and the North Augusta Artists Guild to host the "Cajun Cabaret" on Friday, September 17 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. In the similar style of our hugely successful "Cabaret and Cabernet" event during the 2009 Westobou Festival, this event will put a New Orleans spin on the cabaret.
Julliard Jazz - Large | Westobou
The world famous Juilliard Artist Diploma Ensemble will perform two sets of fantastic New Orleans style jazz. Juilliards jazz performance is made possible by a grant from the CSRA Community Foundation's Porter Fleming Foundation.

Throughout the North Augusta Municipal Center there will be members of the North Augusta Artists Guild painting in a tribute to the artist vendors of New Orleans' Jackson Square. Manuels Bread Caf will offer samplings of their Cajun dishes, including a seafood boil, crab croquettes, and fried-to-order beignets with chicory coffee.

In the Arts & Heritage Center, the Clay Artists of the Southeast will have their Clay in a Can exhibit on display. The North Augusta Artists Guild will have a showing by 35 of their members. Charleston artist Jim Booth will be on hand to mingle with guests. Prints of Mr. Booths latest painting, which is a landscape of North Augusta called Savannah Shoals, will be available for purchase from the Gift Shop. Local author D.K. Bhaskar will sign copies of his book that documents his four-year long project of photographing the Amazon Forest. Singer Karen Gordon will fill the galleries with jazz music.

Tickets to the Cajun Cabaret are $40/person and $75/couple. Tickets can be purchased at the Arts and Heritage Center (100 Georgia Avenue), Parks Pharmacy or Jim Bush Flower Shop. Tickets can also be purchased under the Events section of the AHCNAs website www.artsandheritagecenter.com. Savannah River Winds in a Prism Concert
Savannah River Winds | Westobou
North Augusta Cultural Arts Council (NACAC) is excited to present the Savannah River Winds in a Prism Concert on Monday, September 20 at 7:30 pm in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church of North Augusta at 625 Georgia Avenue in downtown North Augusta. Savannah River Winds is a wind ensemble composed of approximately sixty musicians. Richard Brasco is the director of this acclaimed group.

The NACAC in cooperation with Savannah River Winds has commissioned Larry Clark, a renowned composer of wind ensemble literature, to write a musical composition for the Westobou Festival. Mr. Clark will conduct his original score during the concert. This has been made possible by a grant from the Porter Fleming Foundation in conjunction with the Westobou Festival Committee.

The program will last a little over one hour. There is no admission charge; however, donations will be accepted. The donations will be applied toward the annual Fine Arts Scholarhip presented to a graduating high school senior by the North Augusta Cultural Arts Council.

We invite you to this concert and hope that you will tell all those that you come in contact with about the evening.
